How can I tell if I need a new mattress?
Here are a few hints that may indicate it is time for a new mattress:
- You purchased your current mattress over eight years ago. The average span of a quality mattress is eight to ten years.
- You wake up feeling more tired than when you went to sleep. If you are in good health and this happens to you, it is probably time for a new mattress.
- You get a better nights’ sleep on the sofa.
- Your mattress looks worn and uneven. Upholstery levels compress unevenly over time. If you have sags and imprints in excess of two inches, it may be time for a new mattress.
What is your comfort guarantee?
We offer a 45 day comfort guarantee. We realize sometimes consumers buy a mattress that is too hard or too soft. You may exchange your mattress one time up to 45 days for an $99.00 charge plus delivery and any difference in price between the two mattresses. The mattress must be of equal or better quality. Our comfort guarantee applies to mattress sets retailing for $750.00 and above. We do not offer any refunds or returns.
How much should I spend on a new mattress?
Mattress prices range from $99.00 to $6,500.00. We recommend you buy the best quality mattress you can afford. Keep in mind the average person spends one-third of their life in bed. A bed is one of the best investments a person can make. When you divide the cost of a quality mattress over its 10 year life, that is only pennies per night. Should I replace my boxspring when purchasing a new mattress?
Yes. A good boxspring is as important as a good mattress. It acts like a shock absorber for the mattress. If you put a new mattress on an old boxspring, it will wear quicker than a mattress put on the floor. However, we do sell mattresses separately.
How long should my bedding last?
According to the Better Sleep Council, you should replace your mattress every 8-10 years. However, there are a few things you can do to add life to your new mattress. Buy a mattress with tempered coils and precompressed upholstery layers. A high quality mattress pad will keep the cover form dry-rotting prematurely. Turn your mattress so the layers of padding will settle evenly.
